Monthly Update July '24

Dear Supporter,
July has been slower than normal due to the summer holiday break. Didn’t stop us making further progress though.
Nativz Esports Club also concluded the NLC 1st Division Summer Split and finish a credible 6th place overall, securing our place for 2025. We also commenced a collaboration with Motorsport Ireland 👀
In addition to the Ireland Collegiate Alumni Guild going live we’re now able to reveal our new Business Hub is alive and kicking for this community. It starts with an archive of our Monthly Updates and will build from there.

INDUSTRY NEWS
🗞️ In Focus – Game On is how RTÉ kicked off their culture piece focused on esports and the Olympics, we offered some insights to help shape this one.
By all accounts the inaugural Esports World Cup for clubs is a phenomenal spectacle. It’s created a great formula to build on. Especially as the IOC have given Saudi Arabia the rights for the next 12 years. A timeframe that would see this partnership with Saudi Arabia’s NOC end the year before the first realistic opportunity to take esports into a Summer Olympics.
With that said, there’s still a number of hurdles to navigate ahead of the first edition in 2025. Most importantly, what game titles will be selected? This is a critical decision if they want to embrace the existing esports community wholeheartedly.
Other considerations are needed around the state of readiness in local esports ecosystems. Industry is typically led by private sector business, what’s the government view on investment? Do the mandates of public sector entities such as Sport Ireland/Ireland Olympic Committee need adjusting? That’s just a taste of the conversations to come.
The opportunity for innovation excites us.
Here’s a few other news pieces that we found interesting from across the esports and gaming media;
🗞️ Ever wondered who the esports clubs were across the UK? Here’s your roll call of the UK’s Top 14 plus a nod to us across the Irish Sea. The obvious ones like Fnatic and Guild are there long with some emerging teams.
🗞️ Although it a non-exclusive partnership, this tie-up between KICK the Australian based streaming platform and BLAST Premier caught our attention as KICK steps a bit further into the esports streaming world.
🗞️ Having merged UK based Excel Esports and Giants Gaming from Spain to form GIANTX in December 2023, they’ve now acquired League of Legends AI coaching startup iTero Gaming for a multi-million fee.
SUCCESSES
🚀 Ireland Collegiate Alumni Guild launch featured our new podcast specifically for that audience. We’ve confirmed an impressive group of guest contributors to follow on the heels of our first edition with Sam Molloy.
🚀 Nativz Esports Club finished 6th overall and secured the NLC 1st Division slot for 2025. We’re now waiting on a 3 year growth strategy for the NLC from tournament organiser Leagues.GG as their license is reviewed by Riot Games.
🚀 Collaboration with Motorsport Ireland commenced, call it series zero. We’re excited about this one and wanted to share the news with you. At the conclusion of series zero we’ll make some more noise publicly!

CHALLENGES
Establishing a footprint for growth is always a challenge and it has been one that we’ve focused on across the past 6 months. Each of these are focused on driving further traction via (1) monitisation in our esports ecosystem and/or (2) informing our product development in Project Nemesis as follows;
🎮 Physical Locations - we now have members of our leadership team based in Dublin, Belfast, Waterford across Ireland plus full-time presence in Amsterdam and London.
🎮 Geographic Relevance - our integration in the island of Ireland is comprehensive. In addition to the ongoing success with Ireland Collegiate we have good relationships with the local game communities. We’ve also established Nativz Esports Club within the European League of Legends community.
🎮 Digital Reach - there’s two clear paths, B2C v B2B. At this stage our TikTok following is led by the United States, Poland and then the UK. While 23.5% of our LinkedIn followers are from Greater Dublin and 15.9% from Greater London. All of this is organic growth, LinkedIn is targeted while we experiment with TikTok.
🎮 Key opportunities - collaborations to bridge sports and esports, growing our family of partner brands for our Irish Esports Ecosystem, continuing our integration across the Irish education community and engaging gamers within the local business community. All of these feed into the early growth plans for Project Nemesis, enabling our vision to unlock the power of esports gamer data.
