Industry | Successes | Challenges | Needs | Metrics | Coming Up

Hi Reader,

While Christmas is looming upon us we've looked back across October and November, both were eventful in different ways. We also have some interesting news across the industry in some key areas for you to take a look at if you fancy.

The League of Legends Aurora Cup closed out the NLC for 2022 and culminates in the First Team now moving on to new horizons with our best wishes. Huge congratulations to the Valorant First Team who are off to Brazil for a World Series Final which starts on 13 December. The Collegiate Series is up and running with F1 now with the finals for League of Legends, Rocket League, Valorant and CS:GO straddling Christmas.

On 18 November Riot Games and NLC Tournament Organiser Freaks4U surprised us and the other orgs in the NLC 1st Division with an announcement that will see their investment in the competition reduced. We're in contact with the 2023 1st Division teams, our Advisors and Investors - we'll also be reaching out to our Founder Key holders in due course. We've also been working through the implications of Umbro Ireland license holders and our Official Kit Partners JACC Sports Distributors going into liquidation.

INDUSTRY

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ British esports organisation LDN UTD has been acquired by venture capital and Web3 company Ludus Gaming. While this move isn't a surprise we'll be watching the community reaction closely as Web2 and Web3 come together here.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Our friends BLAST, the esports tournament organiser and esports production company, have announced five partners including Netflix, Magnum and Doritos for the BLAST Premier Fall Final which started yesterday in Copenhagen.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ It seems that esports and music go hand-in-hand, Fnatic have now taken the plunge releasing their first album under the banner of Fnatic Music

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Take a look at the full run down of the changes to the NLC and the wider European League of Legends structure through the eye of Dom Sacco at Esports News UK, goo insight into the broader League structure

SUCCESS

๐Ÿš€ Our LoL Team made a courageous last stand against Dusty in their quarter final of the Aurora Cup despite going down 3-1 against the eventual winners. That concludes what's been an amazingly successful year in League for Nativz as we now look towards building for 2023 ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿš€ Nativz Valorant have tasted success again in their Ireland Red Bull Campus Clutch Grand Final on 12 November. They've now claimed Ireland's place in the World Finals which commence on 13 December over in Brazil! More to follow on nativz.gg and our social channels over the next week ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿš€ We've now expanded the Nativz Collegiate Esports Series to include F1 as we approach the third round of a ten week race series. The move to introduce F1 is due to the increased interest and ability to have up to 20 different Colleges and Universities competing against each other in the one race ๐ŸŽ๏ธ

CHALLENGES

๐ŸŽฎ Riot and Tournament Organiser Freaks4U out of Germany called a meeting with all 2023 1st Division teams on Friday 18 November to inform us they are downgrading the NLC to an unaccredited league, here's their news piece that was released immediately after the meeting.

๐ŸŽฎ End of October saw the High Court of Ireland appoint a provisional liquidator to JACC Sports Distributors Ireland, the company which operates the Umbro Ireland brand - our Official Kit Partner. The Nativz merchandise range has been taken offline for now and we await further details. In the meantime we are exploring our options looking forward to 2023.

NEEDS

๐Ÿ‘€ We're currently exploring creation of a Dublin based Corporate Series for those gamers that are working in the numerous big firms which are based here in the Capital - if you want to know more then please reach out via [email protected]

๐Ÿ‘€ Now the Nativz Collegiate Series is heading into the finals stage for the current split, we are looking for local businesses to support our talent development programme by Sponsoring a Scholarship. We are currently finalising the package but would welcome any thoughts/ideas on how this is structured. Additionally, if you're in a position to support or can provide an intro please do let us know.

COMING UP

๐Ÿ“ฃ Our very own Laura Walsh has just opened DCentral Miami on the Main Stage! This is one of the largest Web3 events globally with over 5,000 attendees across the two day conference and Nativz is up in lights (thanks to Laura).

๐Ÿ“ฃ Last remaining places for our "Gaming + Esports + Web3, the Global Opportunity for Ireland" event with BigFan are available. The event is this Wednesday 30 November @ Dogpatch Labs (Dublin). Full details and RSVP information is available online here.
