2022 In Review

Successes | Challenges | Metrics

Hi Reader,

We know annual reviews can become hard work to get through so we took the approach of short sharp points that are linked back to some depth (where relevant), we've also thrown in some relevant numbers.

Please take a look and let us know what you think - more depth needed, works well, different approach required all together?!?!

SUCCESS

๐Ÿš€ Social media audience grew by an average of 260% last year creating a good base to scale from

๐Ÿš€ Partnerships launched with Crypto Club Global and collaboration growing with Dogpatch Labs,

๐Ÿš€ First semester of the Collegiate Series saw strong numbers despite the late change in owner

๐Ÿš€ Expansion into Valorant via recruitment of an Irish based roster from the Collegiate Series

๐Ÿš€ Acquisition of the Irish Collegiate Esports Series, reaches 35 Colleges and Universities on the Island

๐Ÿš€ Our Valorant roster finished the year by qualifying for the Campus Clutch Worlds Series in Brazil

๐Ÿš€ Welcomed Laura Walsh into the Nativz Family as our first Angel Investor and Advisor (thank you)

๐Ÿš€ Expanded our Advisory Board of industry leaders by bringing in Sam Molloy and Alejandro Gutierrez

๐Ÿš€ Relatively new in esports, we launched our Membership - Founder Key and then Citizen Key

๐Ÿš€ Launched Irelandโ€™s first esports industry event for brands, investors, sports rights holders and more

All of these successes are contributing to the player and creator structure we're building along with strengthening our attractiveness for new people to join our community - critical to build our value for both investment and revenue growth.

CHALLENGES

๐ŸŽฎ Getting the right balance in player and coaching fees in the semi-pro leagues, information/insight into these values is limited but weโ€™re continually reviewing and adapting

๐ŸŽฎ Our kit partner which had the Umbro license for Ireland went into administration, we've found a new partner (announcing this week) and more opportunity as they can cater for our Collegiate Series teams

๐ŸŽฎ Negative impact Freaks4U are having on the NLC as they reduce their commitment, weโ€™re collaborating with the other owners to find solutions and will review our position before the Summer Split

๐ŸŽฎ Getting our Player Roster Digital Collections live with BigFan, itโ€™s a new product/revenue opportunity that is there to explore - we're close now

๐ŸŽฎ Weโ€™re experimenting with Content Creators but havenโ€™t quite got it right, itโ€™s the right strategy and weโ€™re looking for the right talent

๐ŸŽฎ The bear market is having an impact on our growth, as any good startup does in these times โ€“ weโ€™ll keep innovating and building!

Our focus remains exploring products from traditional sports to augment the typical esports reliance on sponsorship to build MRR. Using web3 tech to enhance functionality and/or value is still important.

METRICS

๐Ÿ‘€ 260% increase in social audience on official channels

๐Ÿ‘€ 92K total social reach across official channels, players and staff

๐Ÿ‘€ 3.9% social engagement average

๐Ÿ‘€ 6,787 unique web visitors (+437% on 2021)

๐Ÿ‘€ 1,351 opted in marketing database (up from 37 in Jan 2022)

๐Ÿ‘€ 36.3% open rate, 3.6% click through rate averages for our email marketing

๐Ÿ‘€ +500 Collegiate Esports Series participants in 82 teams from 27 Colleges/Universities

All of these indicators are heading in the right direction, our aim is to build that base which we're growing from so that strong growth rate results in even more people joining our community quicker.

Ask โ€“ if you have any ideas that you feel we should consider please let me know. It would be great to get a call in to discuss, to make it easier finding a time I've included my availability here.

Kurt & the Nativz Team
